The Rolls-Royce precision Lathe

Designed and built by Rolls-Royce in 1948 and in immaculate condition. The company found that in those early post war years they were unable to source a lather that wsa good enough and built three of their own. This lather was bought by it’s designer from Rolls-Royce when it was no longer needed.
This is the only one to survive. It was known in R-R at the Cy lathe
after the designer Mr. Clay.
It is complete with a copy of the original blueprint and all the provenance.

Cy lathe,

Rolls-Royce toolroom wooden boxes

I
I do have an assortment of these charming wooden boxes that were installed in the Crewe Rolls-Royce and Bentley factory at the outset of the war. They vary in size and condition but are very nice to have in your garage, workshop or even on the desk for those writing accoutrements.
Bentley Motors ( VW ) have replaced them with stainless steel and plastic boxes.

Various prices but you can have a couple ( 2 ) for £45 + postage.

Rolls-Royce long service presentation awards

Employees who completed 25 years service with Rolls-Royce used to receive from the company a nice ashtray, a red book containing a letter from the company Chairman and were invited to a celebration luncheon. It is no longer thought appropraite to give an ashtray as a reward but they were a nice piece treasured by recipients and families. Occasionally, one becomes available like the one shown, sometimes they even crop up without the individuals name

More pictures of the ashtray are available to you,

Mounted presentation pieces, Rolls-Royce and Bentley

My friend Frank worked all his life in the Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motors Crewe factory in the woodworking shop. He made the dashboards etc for all the cars. Frank has appeared in many factory publications and films, his was the bench that the tour guides would stop at when they were showing V.I.P.s around the plant. Even after his retirement, Frank has made special presentation pieces for the factory, the Rolls-Royce Club and sometimes for friends.
